Playing with the Present

 

In development through 2019-2020 is a new creative and experiential learning program that introduces young people to mindfulness.

The 12-week course presents and then explores the neuroscience of wellbeing and in particular, the four neuronal circuits known as the pillars of well-being -resilience, attention, outlook, and generosity.

Using games and participatory theatre we rehearse scenarios that present opportunities to strengthen these pillars and in so doing work towards an immersive theatre performance.

Performing the immersive play, caring for audience members who are traveling through a three-dimensional labyrinth, the students learn about and experience mindfulness in action.
